Lafarge is looking for a Loader Operator to join our team. This position will report directly to the Plant Foreman and will work cooperatively with all Greater Calgary personnel.


  • Fully trained in the operations and capability of a front end wheel loader
  • May require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twisting
  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment
  • Monitoring and ensuring accurate weights
  • Monitor material production within specifications
  • Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork
  • Seek out and implement Best Practices
Safety and Environment:
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training provided
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on their loader including, includes washing and cleaning the operators cab, inside and out, greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters, and maintaining all fluid levels
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc; complete proof of regular service may be required
  • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Willing to work flexible hours, job involves shift work and weekend work throughout the year
  • Team player


  • All spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)
  • Contribute toward the overall success of the safety program by following set rules procedures and practices
  • Identify and report workplace hazards and make positive suggestions for their elimination or control
  • Generally perform duties in the safest manner prescribed
  • Required PPE must be worn at all times
  • All employees must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • The Lafarge safety policy must be read and understood
